Stay Home – Do something

Staying home, do something. I am sitting and writing this blog. I lost a good friend to the Coronavirus. This article is about helping others at this sad time. Television is not the only answer while staying home. Opportunity is here. Make something from the experience that we are dealing with. I am 79 years old, Type II diabetic, and had cancer twice. I know that I am at high risk for the coronavirus. Staying at home is prudent, even when the news is overkill. Sitting to long in front of the TV hurts my back. Tragic things are happening. We need to take control it or it controls us.

Make Adjustments

We need to learn how to make adjustments in our lives. Ability to make adjustments is different for each individual. We need to do something different. Staying home is a large adjustment for many of us. My adjustment is different than most people. I have less doctors appointments and have more time to myself. It isn’t all peaches and cream. I love to camp, but that is on hold.

Honey Do

To stay home and do something doesn’t mean just fill idle time. There is lots of things that you can do. Use your mind. Benefit yourself. Do something that helps yourself or someone else. Give yourself a moment and make a plan. Do you have a goal. If not, write one down. Spend some of this time doing home repairs. If you don’t have the tools or material, call a friend and see if you can borrow them. Make sure that you replace them later. Be a hero to your wife or husband. Do something for your spouse that they have wanted to do (the honey do list). Don’t let fear paralyze you.

Don’t Know How To Do Stay At Home Project

Do something exciting. Everyone doesn’t like or know how to do some fix it project. You tube is a great resource for many things. If this isn’t your bag, try handicrafts. I can almost guarantee that you can find something you would like to make.

Who Knows – You May Make A Profit

Stay home - Do something. Do handicraft projects. You might even make some extra money.
My first attempt at a Pine Needle Basket – Shoe carved by my wife’s uncle.

I have a hobby. It is definitely stay at home. I do upholstery. When I was young, I was able to make side money doing it. I enjoyed a hobby that paid for itself. I have a friend that makes bird houses. Another does carving. If you don’t know how, look it up on the internet if available. Read how to books. Don’t have one, call a friend and ask them to leave it out for you to pick up.

I hope that this article helps cheer you up. The youth of today has never had to respond to tragedy like this. There is a cost to everything. No matter it looks like, there is always a cost. I hope our youth can view this as a Country Problem and not as a Personal Problem.

    1. I am trying to keep them short enough to be read. When I state something as fact it has to be verified. Takes a lot of time. I will continue to work at getting better in my presentation.

  2. Helpful info. Lucky me I discovered your web site accidentally,
and I am stunned why this accident didn’t took
place in advance! I bookmarked it.
