Monday Morning Quarterbacking

Monday morning quarterbacking is ridiculous.  First let’s describe what the term means.  It is the opinions of people on an event or action after it has already happened.  The term came about because of the sports media always gives an opinion about what should have happened on a given play in football that failed.

Supposedly, the critique of the football plays is to show how the person making the comment is brilliant.  There are hours upon hours on TV and Radio discussing what should have been done.  The sports media goes steps further than the game. Interviews with player and coaches, supposedly to get information about a game just played.  What they are really after is a story that they can burn the player or coach with.  They do this to create future stories.

Monday morning quarterbacking is negative

I find it interesting that after the fact critiquing always is in the negative.  It starts out with things like he should have done this and they should have done that.  It is a media trick to keep your interest in the subject.  They do mix these stories with some good things, but the focus is on mistakes.  If they can get a response from anyone, especially from someone that they prodded into making a verbal mistake they will agitate them forever, trying to get them to say something else to attack.

The mainstream news media uses this method almost constantly.  There is some difference.  In the past, they stuck to the news.  The news media didn’t present opinions as news.   The media used to give equal time to opposing views.   The message given is usually “The public has the right to know. I don’t feel that I have the right to know the intimate feelings of a person that has lost a loved one, or a sports figure feels about losing the big game.  I know how they feel.  They feel terrible.

Critiquing is similar in politics. https://terrychavis1.com/index.php/2020/04/14/a-monday-morning-quarterback/The media to today uses it as a weapon. They work to destroy any politician that they don’t like. They make every effort to intimidate any person that disagrees with them or opposes them. The news media does present some good stories, but they are usually just for fill in. They can ruin someone’s life and never give it a thought.

We all have suffered from intimidation. Political correctness is an example. Stand up. Intimidation can destroy your self worth. I am not voting for the person in the upcoming election. Voting for the agenda that I prefer. I am voting against the agenda that encourages intimidation and mob rule.
